IPAF Safety Harness User & Inspection Training

Course aims

To instruct an operator to select, inspect and use a harness and associated equipment safely when using a MEWP

Course objectives

At the end of the course the operator will:-

Be aware of the relevant Health and Safety regulations
Be aware of the needs with regard to Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) against falls from height and the relevant requirements
Be able to identify and select the correct forms of PPE against falls from height when using a MEWP
Be able to inspect and maintain a harness and lanyard
Be able to fit and use the harness and lanyard identified

Course content

Introduction
Legislation
Hierarchy (safe work at height)
MEWPs and harnesses – Boom type and Vertical type.
Harness / lanyard choice
Pre-use checks and correct usage
Harness statement
Theory test (pass or fail)

Half day

Training location

Training will be carried out at our fully equipped training centre, (Indoor training area available in case of inclement weather) or nationwide at your site/premises. (Subject to prior survey/approval) For courses held at our training centre, refreshments and lunch will be provided
